South Korea knocked Germany out of the World Cup with 2 – 0 on Wednesday, 27th June and it was a miracle everyone was waiting to happen. Especially for Mexico fans because with Germany out of the picture, it means they’ll be qualified for the 16th round.
Although South Korea did not qualify for the next round, it will surely be an event to remember for the Asian nation for years and years to come. This is the first time Germany has not made it past the first round of the tournament since 1938.
In response to the shocking win, Mexicans are celebrating South Korea as a way of saying ‘Thank You’. In Mexico City itself, fans flocked the South Korean embassy to cheer and applaud which also led the Korean Consul General to Mexico, Byoung-Jin Han, to join in the crowd!
