Once upon a time, we used to serve mini cakes and cookies to our dolls on little plates and spoons, and boy, do we wish we had artist Jay Baron as our chef instead back then.
The 22-year-old is the wizard behind YouTube channel Walking with Giants, where he creates some of the world’s smallest meals. And they’re not just simple dishes (like that fried egg that we’d whip up) either. We’re talking about restaurant-worthy cuisines from around the world, such as steak and potaoes, chimichanga, lasagna, falafel, fish and chips, Au Gratin, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pie and his most popular to date, mini bacon and eggs.
All the magic happens in Jay’s ultra tiny kitchen (and you thought yours was small) with miniature cooking utensils, pots and pans. The web series is akin to a cooking show, where the Californian takes us through the prep and cooking process step-by-step, and later serves it on a teeny table with teeny dining ware. Everything’s so cute that you don’t want to gobble any of it up!
Currently, only his hands appear on his videos, but Jay recently reached out to his fan base on Facebook to ask if they’d like for him to do a face reveal, Q&A session and vLog. “With WALKING WITH GIANTS I’ve confined myself to creating within a 2×2 foot box as a sort of challenge of creativity. Eventually (NOT YET), but eventually, I would like to expand that and not put limits on my creating,” he wrote.
We can’t wait to see what this “giant” with really stable hands will come up with next, but in the meantime, enjoy these amazing videos!
