Let’s face it, with the hustle and bustle and traffic conditions of weekdays, we never really get to sit down and enjoy a satisfying breakfast that is beyond a cup of instant coffee and semi-stale bread. So with the weekend coming up, we’re listing down some more of our favourite brekkie places that won’t disappoint.

Here’s a place that will serve you breakfast however you want it. All. Day. Long. With a choice of 3, 5, or 7 servings, you simply tick what you want on your breakfast sheet and that’ll be exactly what you get. From scrambled eggs, to sautéed mushrooms, and pancakes to turkey bacon, the breakfast list has everything you could possible need to build your perfect brekkie. Caffeine junkies will also be glad to find that their selection of coffees are freshly brewed for that much needed wake-up kick!
10, Jalan SS21/39,
Daily, 8am-7pm, (closing hour: 5pm on Sundays and Public Holidays)
Restoran 126 Bitter Gourd Noodles (Non-Halal)
If you prefer a more eastern breakfast in all its soupy and noodly glory, Restoran 126 is the place for you. The broth is fragrant and the aroma of bitter gourd is not overly overpowering – all in all, a healthy and hearty meal without guilt. But if bitter gourd noodles is not your bowl of broth, they have a selection of other noodles which are just as slurp-worthy!
12, Jalan BM 1/2,
Taman Bukit Mayang Emas,
Petaling Jaya, Aman Suria.
If you like your mornings sprinkled with the scent of pastries and freshly baked bread, then Yeast Bistronomy is the one for you. It will be easy to be intimidated by by the words you can’t pronounce on the menu (it IS a French Bistronomy & Boulangerie after all), but the tuna croissant and French toast tops the list of our faves!
No. 24G, Jalan Telawi 2,
Bangsar Baru, 5910,
Daily, 8am-late (closed on Mondays)
HOUSE + Co.
A hidden gem tucked in the corner of Bangsar Shopping Centre, HOUSE + Co began as a simple home furnishing store in 1995 which expanded into a cafe in 2002. And what an expansion, because this is where we discovered one of the best Nasi Lemaks! The signature dish comes with beef, chicken rending, or squid, is cooked with no msg or artificial flavouring. So if you’re aren’t afraid to fork out a little extra for a guilt-free Malaysian breakfast complete with a chill environment, HOUSE + Co. is the place to head to.
F138, 1st Floor, Bangsar Shopping Centre,
285 Jalan Maarof, Bukit Bandaraya,
59000 Kuala Lumpur
Not unlike the bitter gourd noodle as mentioned above, Choon Prawn Mee also started as just a tiny stall nestled in a Chinese coffee shop. Now a full blown eatery on its own, the stall has flourished with an expansion in menu without compromising the quality. As opposed to the foreign worker who are taught to make and serve your dishes, Peter Kang (fondly known as Ah Choon) still takes the orders and serves them himself, so you can expect a satisfying amount of rich goodness in every bowl of noodles served.
13 Jalan 20/14,
Daily, 7am-4pm (closing hour: 4.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays)
