There’s a familiar trend sprouting around Kuala Lumpur recently and we're here to welcome Resto Bars back into our weekend agendas. Read up on our recommended brunch spots in KL and PJ here!
If the term sounds foreign to you, it basically means exactly what it sounds like - the perfect union between a restaurant and bar. Whether they're combined into one space or separated into sections that are designated for dining and drinks, it makes planning a night out a lot easier. Gather all your besties in one place and let the conversations flow over delicious dishes before hopping over to check out the bar menu.
We can’t deny that having a no-fuss iced cold beer with a bowl of potato chips on the side is the epitome of comfort, but if you’re feeling like adding an extra twist to a special occasion, give our recommended Resto Bars below a taste or two.
From the founders of the Red Bean Bag and Yellow Brick Road, the opening of Wizards marks their latest cafe venture, right smack in the Golden Triangle no less. The space is located at the lobby of Tribeca on Jalan Imbi, with glass mirrors surrounding the restaurant to allow natural lighting to seep through (A+ for Instagram snaps!) which we adore! The overall decoration has a well-thought balance between greenery against the minimal contemporary feel.
Striving to support local produce as much as possible, you’ll be able to pick out artisanal ingredients from within the country like the Specialty Hot Chocolate by Choc Concierge (RM16), which is bold and fruity.
Although breakfast is their specialty at Wizards, we truly recommend all-day dining at the restaurant which brings together a beautiful fusion of Asian and Australian food concepts to the table. Shifting over to the bar, Co-founder Shaun Liew adopts his mixology background into crafting cocktails that are easy to drink, without losing their distinct character.
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10AM – 10PM
Location: Ground Floor Residensi Tribeca, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, W.P. Kuala Lumpur
