We don’t know about you but to us, nothing’s more Malaysian than public holidays that spill over into long weekends. This Malaysia Day weekend marks our third (!!!) long weekend in a row and sadly, also our last official one of 2018 (unless you’re planning on taking leave around Deepavali or Christmas and if you haven’t thought of it yet, you’re welcome).
With so many long weekends back-to-back, if you’ve run out of things to do, don’t worry as we’ve got you covered. Besides some recurring favourites, we’ve also listed some brand new, only-this-weekend events as well as new spots in town that should be on your radar.
Bazaars, exhibitions, food and more food (it wouldn’t be Malaysia without it, am I right?), here’s a few things to close out your long-weekend spree with a bang.
Celebrate Malaysia’s diversity at the OneNationFitsAll Rempah2018 festival, 16 September

This 16th Sept, we have a lot of options in how we choose to celebrate #MalaysiaDay. Whatever you choose, please go all out to support those events as Malaysians and friends of Malaysians. There is nothing more meaningful or beautiful than to celebrate Malaysia Day with our fellow Malaysians. In fact, this Malaysia Day is so special that #onenationfitsall is also throwing a festival to not only celebrate our Malaysian-ness, but we are launching our community platform. We have evolved from being that tee-shirt movement company to a community platform that on-boards small business owners and entrepreneurs with a social conscience. We still sell those wonderful “Malaysian” t-shirts, but now, we also sell other cool Malaysian products and brands. #Rempah2018 Malaysia’s Best Mix is our heartfelt tribute to all the beautiful diverse Malaysians and friends of Malaysia. Participation is FREE – as a vendor or a guest. Please don’t say la it is too far to come to Cyberjaya. If we can drive all the way to KLIA for our loved ones, we can drive to Tamarind Square on Malaysia Day for our nation. Rempah 2018 promises to deliver 12 hours of non-stop blissful fun – from a variety of food (gourmet to food trucks), entertainment, art installations, award-winning short film screenings, Baby Theatre Play, Puppetry, a constructed “Heritage Street” by Sunway Education Group, Flash tattoos, @apom.my, @thepichaproject, @onenationfitsall, @justheavenly.my, @chocconcierge, @batikamy, @chillchill.my, @myboatnoodle, @heerraaofficial, specially choreographed performances for Malaysia Day only, and many many more. YES, from 9:16am to 9:16pm. So, don’t stay home. Come out in full force and show your love. Discover the amazing talented Malaysians amongst us. Savour their delectable food to enjoying their arts and crafts, to singing and dancing. Over 70 participants showcasing the best of Malaysia’s diversity all under one roof on one special day! #oneworldlovesall #malaysiaku #sayangimalaysiaku
