I have a confession to make: I’ve been sleeping on my living room couch for weeks. I have a perfectly functioning bed a couple feet away in the next room but I’ve been kicked out by my own closet. My Ikea PAX wardrobe has failed me, as it can no longer sustain the extent of my fashion finds and thus, my clothes have ventured out, conquered my bed, forcing me to sleep on the couch. One of my resolutions for 2018 is to declutter my life in every aspect, and since I really want to sleep on my bed again sometime soon, I started with my closet.
I did my research and found multiple solutions to help (FYI: Marie Kondo is the shiznit), I’m about halfway through the pile, I can almost clearly see the mural behind my bed. It’s still a work in progress but hey, I’m getting somewhere! If you’re anything like me, here’s how to do it.
#2 Let’s get organised
Make things easier to find by sorting them by colour and/or garment type. I’m doing it by colour and then type. For example: green tops, green bottoms, green dresses followed by green outerwear and the next colour. But essentially, work with what’s best for you and your closet. What may work for mine may not necessarily work for yours.
