Hafeez Mikail, 26, Actor
You might have seen Hafeez Mikail in the latest movie, Busker, where he plays as Adil, the lead singer of busking group Simfoni Dalam Poket. Not only can he act, he sings too! Hafeez dedicates his time and effort into further pursuing his acting career and believes that with great discipline, one can achieve great lengths.
Tell us a little bit about what you do.
I’m an actor who sings. I act on screen and sing for people’s pleasure
When you realise this passion of yours could be a career?
Back in 2008, where my first onscreen debut was never a passion for me because it was a random choice that my friends and I went for a casting for a TV series and luck was on my side, I managed to get the role. I didn’t continue acting after I finished high school because I wasn’t that into it. [It was only] after a few jobs I tried like fitness trainer and cabin crew was not doing well for me, that I got back into the acting line after my best friend persuaded me to go back in acting life. It took me one year to realise that it was for me and I pursued it as my career.
T-shirt and denim jacket, Levi’s; khaki trousers, Hafeez’s own.
As an actor, what do you do to make each character you play truly your own?
Homework is one of the criteria that every actor and actress should do before they start any job, but for me idolising the character is one of my methods because everyone will always follow and try to be like the person they idolise.
Being taken advantage of my leniency. Process of delaying the payment is the most popular issue and (kebajikan tidak diperlihara) just because I’m not a superstar.
