Neoh Wee Ming, 29, Aircraft Engineer
In his line of career, work life pretty much takes up most of Neoh’s time which is why he appreciates every second of his free time to chill out and get away from the city. His positive attitude stands by the motto he keeps repeating to himself “If it’s for the better, why not?”.
The best part of your job?
My off days! I work shifts, so that’s basically four nights consecutively, followed by four days off! That makes it easy to plan for a getaway if I need a break!
That’d be my first solo trip to Sydney after my training of six years with AirAsia. I just got my first paycheck and got upgraded to Business class, on my flight over. Then, I found out some of my oldest, closest friends were in the city too so it was true serendipity!
– Neoh on his favourite travel memory.
If you could visit any time period in all of history, which would it be?
The day our Prime Minister declared Independence Day. I would love to experience the feeling of finally being free from war and all the hard times our ancestors went through.
What sports team would you join?
The diving team! The training that our Malaysian diving team goes through seems interesting and I personally enjoy water sports/water activity.
Is there anything you’d change about yourself?
I have the mindset of “If it’s for the better, why not?” so I’m always up to challenge myself if it means it’s for the better.
Country-side life, beach life, or city life?
Ideally, it’d be a beach life but that’s almost impossible right now, because my job doesn’t allow me to do so. However, the ultimate retirement plan is to move from a city life to a beach life!
