CLEO Hot Bachelors 2018: Praveen Daniel Abraham

Praveen Daniel Abraham, 23, CLP Student

Of the many causes Praveen would get behind, mental health is at the top of his list. Second would be pushing for women’s football for the FIFA Forward Development Programme, being the Sports Law enthusiast that he is, but that doesn’t stop him from appreciating the time to unwind and chill out after a long day.

What are some causes you really care about?

Mental health, because I believe it’s time we eliminate stigma that comes with having mental health issues. I’m also a Sports Law enthusiast so the FIFA Forward Development Programme, which promotes women’s football, is another cause I would stand behind. And the National Human Rights Society in Malaysia’s (HAKAM) recent projects that call for the abolishment of the Death Penalty in Malaysia intrigued me.

The one thing you’d like to change in this world?

Conventional beauty stereotypes – beauty shouldn’t be confined to a singular definition.

Empathy. I believe every man should be unapologetically themselves, but in saying that, I too believe that a man should be empathetic. There is strength in compassion and kindness that is often underestimated.

– Praveen on what makes a man.

Tell us your idea of a good time?

Late night drives to nowhere. I would flip a coin; heads turn left, tails turn right and I’d just make the most of wherever I end up.

Lunch or dinner dates?

I’m more of a night person so dinner dates definitely. There’s just something raw about getting to know someone once the work day is over and the priority, to unwind.

Do you have a favourite Kardashian?

If I had to pick, it’d probably be Kris Jenner. I admire the way she’s turned her family’s notoriety into a multi-million dollar business. She also mom-manages all of the other Kardashians and pulls all the strings behind the scenes. I don’t know if Kanye is a Kardashian by extension but he would probably be a close second – he’s aite.

If you could visit any time period in all of history, what would it be?

The 1950s. Incredible music by Elvis, Ray Charles, and Otis Redding; fashion icons like James Dean, Marlon Brando; the jitterbug; drive-in movies and malt shops – like those cool jukebox, ice cream parlours. Everything about it, really. Or maybe the 1980s, I think it’d be cool to get down with mum and dad.
