For lunch, we dove straight into one café restaurant at Petaling Jaya: Muse Eatery. The rustic interior of the restaurant is enlivened by the Scandivanian-style exterior; green leafy plants against forest green backdrop. Yes, it’s 100% Instagrammable! Housed along many cafes, Muse Eatery is tucked on the corner of the road.
If you have a special spot for chicken, you’ll love this place. Their signature dish, Har Jiong Chicken Chop was marinated in shrimp paste sauce then deep fried with cornflakes to perfect golden brown, paired with spicy mayo on the side. Super crispy on the outer, succulent and juicy tender inner.
For a healthier option, while the Har Jiong chicken chop was close from being “the best” in our book, another of their main dish—the Muse Chicken Chop was executed well too. The chicken was grilled to perfection, lying on pool of thick mushroom sauce. Yums.
We also had the Muse Shrimp Aglio Olio with pan-seared tiger prawn, nicely seasoned with garlic and olive oil. This gourmet pasta comes with fresh shrimp in large pieces, which makes it a huge hit. It’s a perfect light food choice for if you want to go meatless.
What’s a lunch date without a little sweetness to end the day with? For dessert, we had a warm skillet of chocolate chip cookie, all the better when served up along with some vanilla ice cream. It’s thick, super chewy, and moist especially in the centre. The sizing of it is decent too because you wouldn’t want to end up eating way too many and then cry the next time you get on the scale.
