I know a handful of people who vowed that they were gonna be doing ‘Dry January’ and I also know that these handful of people didn’t quite make it.
For those of you who don’t know what this is, ‘Dry January’ is everyones chance when the New Year comes in to ditch the hangover, reduce the waistline, and save some serious $$$ by giving up alcohol for 31 days.
Now, it probably doesn’t sound like much but you’ll come to realise just how often you drink even if it’s a glass of wine or two after a really long day. Perhaps it’s our generation’s ever increasingly love for wine/border-line alcoholism that when you’re surrounded by friends who ARE drinking, your goals start to waiver.
In this case, maybe it’s best to have just said bye-bye to your darling friends for the month if you know your will power isn’t all that great. Although, I do get the oddly satisfying feeling of knowing you were sitting at dinner without even having a sip of vino while the rest of your friends are.
Dry January is a great way to cleanse and detox yourself and it can also be a great way to test your mental strength because dat sh*t hard man.
For those who participated and made it until the end or if you didn’t make it to the end — I salute you! Let the concept of Dry January be your stepping stone to living a healthier and happy lifestyle.
So, I’m curious — how did your Dry January go?
