Most girls would know the struggles of gravity vs hair. It’s a lifelong struggle to tame that mane and STILL maintain the perfect amount of body and volume. And because we don’t have a team of hairstylists to keep our head of hair looking perfect all the time, here are some tricks to give you that instant volume!
Add a clip.
Take a claw clip and tuck it under your ponytail to give it that bit of a lift. Or if you’re not a fan of the Ariana Grande famed ponytail, you can also get a couple of bobby pins and style yourself a simple poof.
Dry shampoo is everything.
Just have a look at any backstage videos of fashion shows and you’ll find bottles of dry shampoo camouflaged in with hairspray. Why? Because dry shampoo will never let you down! Flip your head over, spray dry shampoo at the roots, muss it up, and you’re good to go.
Invest in a good hair dryer.
Whenever things are looking a little limp, get an upside down blow out or alternatively, hold your hair up and give your hair a warm blast holding the dryer upwards.
Spritz on some texturizer.
Texturizers are great for that beach babe look or generally adding a bit more wave into your locks. Spritz and scrunch to amp up that volume or to take the attention away from your bed head.
Switch up your parting.
If you’re into quick fixes, change your parting to bump some volume into your flat top. If you find yourself constantly battling the flat roots, then try new ways to style your hair each day to keep your roots on their toes.
Tease your roots.
We’re not talking backcombing because we all know how quickly that will damage your hair. Use the pads of your fingertips to massage your scalp, tousling the roots of your hair as your go. (It doubles as a relaxing scalp massage so it’s really a win-win!)
