In the spirit of arts, music and culture – the month of May has been all about celebrating our local scene alongside exciting events by Urbanscapes 2017. Going beyond the norm of having one festival, they have been hosting shows and events scattered around our beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur.
It’s one of those events that you wait all year for the line-up to be released and get your bucket list of bands to watch checked off. One of mine would be Cigarettes After Sex all the way from Brooklyn, New York. If you missed the gig, it was held at the newly renovated The Bee, Publika last week on May 9th with an opening act by a German electronic musician/producer Ulrich Schnauss, spectacular visuals by Nat Urazmetova.
After their soundcheck session, we managed to speak to Greg Gonzalez, the frontman of CAS to talk about break-up songs, film soundtracks and the ideal setting to listen to their hazy and romantic music. Watch the full interview below.
