CLEO talks to: Hanie Hidayah & Nasri Zulkarnain
Blogger, Flashpacker (Five years together)
What made you realise you belong together?
H: He became the last person I want to see when I fall asleep and the first when I wake up.
N: I get to be myself around her – she embraces everything about me.
What’s your most commonly used phrase to each other?
H: “What should we eat tonight? Have you fed Soba (our cat)?”
N: “Asian or Western? I’ve fed Soba; first thing I do every morning.”
If one of you had a bad day, how would you comfort each other?
H: With home-cooked meals and cuddles while watching Netflix.
N: Hugs are the best! Sometimes Soba gets in on the action, too.
Who are your relationship goals?
H: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, my parents, or any other power couple doing life-changing things out there.
N: Old married couples who take daily walks together.
What’s your favourite travelling experience as a couple?
H: Every time we’re in Bali because the world just feels like our oyster there, but I especially loved the time we got to celebrate Krewe du Vieux in New Orleans, and when we took a road trip along Iceland, with midnights spent in sub-zero temperatures, waiting for the Northern Lights to show.
N: Iceland! Driving around the island through blizzards and hazardous roads was crazy.
