It’s been a year since the new dawn in Malaysia. On May 9 2018, Malaysians made history during the 14th General Elections and overturned the ruling government of over 60 years.
I still remember how I was filled with an array of emotions that fateful day. I still remember all the emotions I felt that day– nervous, excited, happy and worried. As a first time voter, I didn’t really know what to expect. I recall my dad telling me not to get my hopes up because the big change might not happen but every vote still counts.
And later that night when the results came in, we were all ecstatic. Change is finally here. That feeling is something I will never forget, and the fact that I voted made it all better.
So we compiled some posts of Malaysians reminiscing that fateful day. Here’s how they remember May 9 2018.
