How To Take The Perfect Instagram Photo

You’ll come to find that taking the perfect Instagram photo ain’t easy. You’ll snap a photo and upload what you think may be nice but find that you’ve collected a total of 10 likes. Fret not, we’ve got you.

Instagram is a whole different ballgame. You may have they eye for photography but nowadays it’s about achieving that cinematic and ‘hipster’ feel to your photos. Cue editing. And symmetry, people love that sh*t.

Ironically, don’t use the actual Instagram app to snap a photo. Get your camera app out, turn on the grid feature and start snapping.

Some photo editing apps for you to download:

  1. VSCO Cam
  2. Snapseed
  3. Afterlight
  4. Instagram (of course)

Found a pretty wall? Savour it.

Put together an outfit that’ll stand out against the colour of the wall. Better yet if it’s plain white – you really can’t go wrong! Strike a pose, snap a photo.

Make sure to edit your photos by bringing down shadows and increasing the contrast.

Food photos are a lot like flat lays. You think it’s easy to take a good looking food photo but it ain’t…

If you’re not standing up on your chair then you’re pretty much not doing it right.

Increase the saturation so you get all the colours popping from the different foods. Having something amorphous (a flower in this case) will make the photo more appealing.
