As much as I appreciate a great formula, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m easily swayed by pretty packaging. I can’t help it; I’m more inclined to use a certain product when I’m not put off by a ghastly package. Products aren’t people; sometimes it’s okay to buy into it because it’s gorgeous. That being said, nothing thrills me more than brilliant products in equally stunning bottles. Case in point: IGK hair care.
To the uninitiated (read: if you’re not a serial beauty tutorial-watcher), IGK was founded in 2016 by a band of four pioneering hairstylists from New York, L.A and Miami. Chase Kusero, Franck Izquierdo, Leo Izquierdo and Aaron Grenia have been styling the manes of various designers and celebs (Poppy Delevingne and Lily James are fans of Kusero’s work) so naturally, the products offered by IGK are formulated to create looks that go from chill, beach hair to ultra-glam ‘dos. In short, whatever your style is, there’s bound to be something your tresses will love from IGK.
My personal top picks for my fine, easily greasy hair include Expensive Amla Oil Hi-Shine Topcoat; a weekly treatment that leaves hair incredibly soft (and not at all limp!) for days, Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo for when I need volume (it also smells heavenly) and Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm to add shine to dry ends (also that name is GOLDEN). Aside from looking good on your vanity, IGK is also cruelty-free and formulated without sulphates, gluten and parabens. If that isn’t amazing hair care, I don’t know what is.
IGK launches today on Sephora’s website and in-stores on April 26th.
