Centrally located in the heart of the city, Makespace is a unique event rental space of 14,000sqft with rustic and industrial interiors. The space can accommodate up to 500 (pax) standing and 300 (pax) sitting. Equipped with air-conditioning and wireless network, Makespace provide clients with new platform for creativity to create great event experiences through its size, and one-of-a-kind setup. Located within walking distance from public transportation (Monorail and LRT) and having ample of parking spaces within the mall, it is a perfect space to run medium to big scale public or private events.
Makespace has and is capable to host various types of events such as talks, townhall events, product launches or brand activation events, brainstorming and corporate programs, fashion shows, parties, theatre, festivals and many more to one’s imagination.
One of the more outstanding features of Makespace is its high speed and extensive (up to 500 connections) WiFi connections that has attracted hackathons to run in the space. Hackathon events(100-150 pax scale) that has taken place in Makespace includes Mediaprima Labs – Agen Ali Game Jam and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC) Level Up KL SEA Game Jam, both of which were hosted for 36 hours at a go.
Among the other interesting events that has taken place in the space are Futsal Tournament by Adidas – Adidas Tango League, futsal games and music events by Heineken Live Your Music, BMW Shorties awards, The BOH Cameronian Arts Awards, YouTube Beauty Bound Asia, Fitness First x Lorna Jane Glow Fit Party (a glow in the dark fitness program), TalentCorp MyASEAN Internship Beyond, Redbull BCOne (breakdance competition), Charles & Keith Fall Preview Party and Comic Art Festival.
Co-founded by Hakim Albasrawy, Sky Chew and Low Ngai Yuen, Makespace was established to inspire people to make things. It started out in a space nestled in SS2 Mall and moved into Quill City Mall in early 2015.
Given its location and consistent with its name, Makespace is truly a blank canvas for events where imagination is limitless!
