CLEO’S Hot Shots 2017 and Malaysia’s most successful change makers gave power hour a whole new look.
Our mission to tell the stories of young successful women in Malaysia continued with an afternoon full of mind-opening talks and head-turning outfits. On 28 August, the CLEO Hot Shots event took place at The Gardens Theatre, Malaysia’s boss-ladies alongside past Hot Shots, industry experts and friends of #teamCLEO strutted up in hues of denim courtesy of Levi's. The post-lunch slump was even kept at bay as each guest got their dose of the L'Oreal Hydrafresh range, perfected to keep even the busiest jet-setter, fresh and ready to go!
speaker #1: Keynote by deborah henry, co-founder of fugee school
Kick-starting the power talks was Deborah Henry, co-founder of Fugee School, who shared her experiences with working on empowering and changing the lives of refugees in our country. Touching on the stories of their hardships, traumas and struggles, Deborah advocated for empathy and compassion, as well as urging guests to always see things from different points of view.
“The golden rule is to always put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Try to understand from their perspective and perhaps, that would be the catalyst to change how we treat one another,” Deborah said.
