Tristan Smeeton, 21, Music Producer and DJ
Give us a little insight on what you do.
Previously I was a Financial Advisor working for a British Wealth Management company called the Devere Group, working with expatriates within Kuala Lumpur. But I chose a different direction and started producing my own music.
I focus mostly on Deep House and Chicago House, as these genres have had the biggest impact on my decision to start producing. I have slowed down on DJing for a while but will be picking up sets in the later part of March and will be releasing two songs before the end of March.
Is there a charity or cause that you care deeply about?
As a vegetarian, PETA has had a great impact on life. I try to contribute to the organisation as much as I can every month. I always urge people to see the work PETA is doing, not many people know what actually happens inside slaughter houses.
Do you have any pre-set routine?
I try to set up my tracklist according to the BPM and the genres I play, but most of the time I pick my songs depending on the vibe of the crowd.
What is your favourite sound in this world?
David Attenborough’s voice.
The theme song of your life?
Halcyon by Orbital. It’s been one of my favourite tracks since its release.
If you could eradicate one thing in this world, what would it be?
Donald Trump’s administration.
“The world’s luckiest guy is the one who…”
Marries Mila Kunis, so I guess it’s Ashton Kutcher.
