Jin Ooi, 23, Model and Dancer
Tell us a little bit more about what you do.
I started dancing when I first entered college. I saw a dance crew performing on the colleges freshie’s night. They inspired me to push myself more into dance and through that process I’ve done a number of commercial dance jobs and soon after I was recruited into the dance group that inspired me in the first place (Moovelite). During my 2 years throughout University, I was brought into the modelling scene where I joined a competition called Malaysia Supermodel Search in 2015.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Modelling in other countries but also having a stable job in the IT field. Maybe living somewhere with alpacas and a ton of corgis!
Describe your idea of an adventure.
Meeting new people and trying to adapt to their culture. I don’t mean just travelling either; I believe we can learn a lot from people who has different cultures and background.
If you could create one thing and have it be your legacy for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’d love to create a new kind of pastry and give it a really Asian name.
What does friendship mean to you?
Having people who does not necessarily share the same view in life as you but could be counted on when needed.
