Brian Chan, 22, Actor
How did you get into acting?
I decided to join my high school’s acting clubs because it seemed like the best way to get to know all the girls in the clubs.
What’s your pre-show routine?
Before taking some time to gather my thoughts and mentally prep myself, I’d usually go around backstage giving my thanks (and hugs!) to other cast and crew members.
What Broadway show do you want to be a part of?
Grease. It’s such an iconic show and I really want to do the John Travolta trademark move of staring into the distance.
What is your biggest accomplishment of your life?
3 large pizzas and 3 Big Macs in 10 minutes, all by myself.
If you could have a documentary made about you, what would you name it?
The Life and Time of Thechanmaster.
In five years, what do you hope to see eradicated?
Laws against the LGBT community. Simple, free-love.
Your first anniversary is coming up. Where would you go to celebrate?
An arts festival. What better way to show a girl a good time than showing her the magic of live theatre?
What’s the one cause or charity that you care about?
OCEARCH, a shark research organization focusing on the conservation of the great white sharks.
What fictional character do you relate to the most?
Naruto, because even though his friends constantly put him down for trying to achieve his dreams, he still finds a way to prove them wrong.
Name one popular women’s fashion trend you wish men could get away with. Why?
High Heels. Why? Those things make my ass pop. Some context – I played a drag queen in one of my shows, I had to don a padded Double D bra, a wig, dress and 6 inch high heels, and damn, I looked good.
