Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has won the Democratic primary in New York’s Congressional District. But not only did she run for office but has proven to everyone who has ever doubt her.
In a campaign ad, Ocasio-Cortez said:
Women like me aren’t supposed to run for office.
According to BBC.com, the millennial candidate won with 57.5% of the votes. Her opponent, Joe Crowly had not faced a challenger from his own party in 14 years in the mostly ethnic minority district, which covers parts of the Bronx and Queens.
