It’s a common saying that parents are the biggest influence in a child’s life, and who are better to agree to this, other than the founders of Mimpikita? Raised by an architect and a seamstress, the three Zulkifli sisters were naturally inclined to worlds of art and design. They had always dreamt of having their own fashion label, hence the birth of Mimpikita — which literally translates to Our Dream.
Starting out in a bungalow in Bangsar, they moved on up to their much-visited boutique in Jalan Telawi 2 (where their e-commerce site was also launched), and the brand is now housed at a full-fledged standalone store in Jalan Ara, Bangsar. With their natural flair for design, fabric choice, clean cuts and attention to detail, the Zukliflis strived to create modern yet modest fashion for our Muslim sisters.
Many of us will attest to owning at least one (well, we count ten in our closets!) Mimpikita item, and you won’t be hard pressed to find something you’ll love. Their ready-to-wear items (festive and everyday) fly off the shelves, personally-curated scarves for hijabis are ones to #covet, and their lovingly crafted bridal gowns’ll make any wife-to-be gush.

To celebrate this anniversary milestone, Mimpikita is launching a #KitaSepuloh Exhibition, which is specially curated into four sections. Be prepared to uncover Mimpikita’s garments and in-house designed textile prints over the past decade, from the earliest to the latest collection, and things that have never been seen before from the archives! There’ll be an interactive space where The Zulkifli sisters have graciously opened to share Mimpikita’s humble journey and milestones. Be sure to catch their newly launched Fall/Winter collection that’s also available for purchase along with other #KitaSepuloh limited edition collectible merchandise!
