Places To Visit During The Long Holidays

Alamak, terlupa! Yup, for some of us lucky humans in Selangor, Monday and Tuesday are both public holidays! Nothing’s more amazing than realising that you’ve got a whole row of 4 days off, without having to use up your annual leaves. Then it hits you… “damn I should’ve planned a holiday” – well, fret not, we’ll make the best out of this. Here’s a list of places to visit to make full use of your forgotten long weekend.

Batu Caves

Would you still take my word for it if I told you that I haven’t been? HEHEHEHE. IKR, shame on me! But I’ll probably end up using this weekend to finally visit this beautiful site. Get in tune with your zen and spirituality when visiting this giant limestone shrine. A friend of mine told me that there are even hidden temples you may be able to pass by if you’ve got the right guide. Be prepared for a work out though – 272 steps up!

Petronas Twin Towers

Rising a little over 450 meters off the ground, this bad boy is already a sight to see on its own. The fun part about visiting the Twin Towers is being able to see the landscape of KL from that height! It’s definitely a plus to have Aquaria and Petrosains in walking distance as well, so you can make a full day out of it. If you’re not looking to spend any more money after, well you can always just head on down to the park with some packed sandwiches, and voila – picnic day!

Taman Negara

This may entail a teency bit more planning, but arrangements can be made quite easily with this guide (click the link). It’s about a 3 and half hour bus ride to the place from China Town, but it offers many activities for the adventure seeking human, like river rapids, and up close and personal fish feeding!

Cameron Highlands

Perfect for someone seeking nice and chilly weather! You can make a day trip out of this, by driving up in the morning. There are so many things to do like, visiting the strawberry farms, and tea plantations, or finding a nice sunflower garden to just take pictures at, really! If winging it is just not your thing, you can find yourself some tours here (click the link).

Your holiday doesn’t have to feel wasted. Whatever you decide to do, we just want you to enjoy yourselves!
