Apart from the fact that this is the 21st century and women get to do whatever they want with their bodies (and that includes their hair), the ladies with newly-shortened dos want you to stop saying these things.
You know, some people go through a J-Law moment instead. Where they just healthily decided to cut their hair without shavers, or umbrellas, or mental breakdown involved. It’s just the way it is.
“Are you, like, lesbian now?”
Firstly, sexual orientation has nothing to do with a hairdo. And secondly, that’s, like, none of your business.
“But you looked so nice with your long beautiful hair.”
And you looked so nice when you kept your passive aggressive opinions to yourself.
“I could never cut my hair that short. But it totally looks good on you. Really.”
A backhanded compliment totally sheds light on your inferiority complex. You should stop. Really.
“Do you save a bunch on shampoo and conditioner now?”
Actually, yes. Short hair = economical savings + not having to wake up an hour earlier to wash, dry, and style. And it’s AWESOME!
“So why did you do it?”
Why does cutting your hair have to mean anything? Can’t people just do whatever they damn well please with their hair without inviting a tonne of questions about the internal motivations of it?
