The Curvy Girl’s Guide To Wearing Shorts

Skinny girls look good in almost everything, and that leaves the rest of us with curves feeling a little intimidated to wear shorts. The truth is shorts aren’t solely reserved for girls whose thighs don’t touch, everyone can wear it; you just need to know how to work it.

Go High

Any girl would be able to tell you that the “high-waisted” revival was the best thing since sliced bread. Not only does it hide the tummy from that overly large lunch, it also gives the illusion of an hourglass shape. Yes please!

Let It Weigh You Down

Opt heavier fabrics. A sturdier fabric (heavier cotton blends or denim) reduces the risk of the shorts riding up creating that inverted V. We’ve all been there, and we all know it ain’t pretty..

Opposites Attract

If you’re going bold and squeezing into a tight pair, throw on an oversized shirt. But if you’re going with a fitted top, pair it with a breezier pair of trousers – it’s all about the balance.

Experiment with Colours and Prints

While black may be slimming, there are plenty of shades in the colour scheme. Try out prints if you’re feeling bold, whether it’s classic florals, stripes, abstracts or even animal prints, go ahead and work it! If you’re afraid of looking a little too risqué, then go for a relaxed fit and adorn with minimal accessories.
