In conjunction with AirAsia’s continuous effort in discovering young talents, the Runway Ready Designer Search is launched to provide emerging, aspiring designers a platform to showcase their creativity and as a stepping stone to help them reach their goals in the fashion industry, through a brilliant collaboration with the KL Fashion Week Ready To Wear team.
Among an overwhelming number of nearly 350 submissions from fashion students and designers nationwide, the Top 10 finalists were carefully selected by the panel of esteemed judges, including Aireen Omar (CEO of AirAsia Berhad), Andrew Tan (Founder of KLFW RTW), Khoon Hooi, Jovian Mandagie, and Khairul Abidin Ishak (Editor of EH! Magazine).
The Top 10 finalists are: Shazmin Hashim, Syamil Fazwan and Muhammad Nur Hazimin, from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Lee Bao En from UCSI University; Liew Suet Yi, Ong Pei Yin, and Ter Mei Ching from Esmod Kuala Lumpur The One Academy; Nur Irsalina Sulzaily from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology; as well as Andy Yeo Kai Seh and Foo Yee Ming from Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA).
The finalists will be presenting their collection at the highly anticipated Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2015 event in August, where only one young designer will claim the title of “AirAsia’s Most Promising Designer 2015” and take home exciting prizes including return flights to Tokyo, Sydney and Hong Kong.
