CLEO’s Guide To Meghan Markle’s Wedding Makeup On A Budget
Unless you’ve been through a Wifi breakdown or skipped reading the papers, you would have by now, familiarised yourself with the beautiful images of a smiling Meghan Markle on her wedding day. The UN advocate, all-round humanitarian and former actress married Prince Harry in a gorgeous ceremony at Windsor Castle last Saturday. As expected, Meghan stunned the crowds in a modern, minimalist gown by Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy (read more about the look here). On beauty duty was makeup artist Daniel Martin, a long-time friend and the man behind Meghan’s looks on Suits and hairstylist Serge Normant.
Daniel truly brought out Meghan’s natural beauty, opting for a delicately smoked out liner, lots of lashes, my-lips-but-better lipstick and kept Meghan’s skin looking fresh and freckly (one of her best features!). While the exact products used are still a secret between Daniel and Meghan (and some ladies-in-waiting, I suspect), it’s safe to assume there was plenty of Dior products (Daniel is an ambassador) used along with Meghan’s fave things (more on that here!).
It’s a fairly easy look to recreate, focusing on skin prep for a natural glow and a little definition on the eyes. Because we’re big fans of budget beauty, we’ve rounded up some affordable products that’ll help to achieve Meghan’s au naturel glow – no glam squad required.
Repeat after me: great base = on-point face. Keep skin soft and plumped with a basic, hydrating, non-offensive moisturiser.
