Malaysian Beauty Brand: Daisy Sky Malaysia
Every beauty brand has its star player, the one that serves as muse to the entire range. For Daisy Sky Malaysia, it’s the Bulgarian Rose Alba Hydrosol (also known as floral water); a lush, potent hydrator and antioxidant. Daisy Sky was found in 2008 by Kong Wan Lin and grew into a tightly edited skincare line that eschews dyes, artificial fragrances, parabens, alcohol, preservatives and animal products for pure, skin-loving ingredients. #TeamCLEO finds out more about the beginnings of Daisy Sky and their must-have products.
How did Daisy Sky come about?
While pregnant with Seanan, Wan Lin’s normal-to-oily combination skin became really dry, blotchy and oily. Her hair was also falling out due to the pregnancy hormones. She realised that products containing alcohol, preservatives and colouring just made her skin worse and wasn’t helping with the hair loss. As she was also pregnant, she wanted to look for a more natural organic alternative and discovered a small boutique beauty product offering the Bulgarian Rose Alba Hydrosol. She tried it and over 4-6 weeks, her skin became clearer, brighter and smoother. So she reached out to the company and through countless emails and Skype-calls, they connected and after she gave birth, she flew over to Changsha to meet them. That was how Daisy Sky Malaysia came about.
