#TeamCLEO Mane Makeover: How To Rock Ash Brown Hair

Choosing the right hair colour can be a life-crisis - especially if you're a newbie like me.

In a nutshell: I never dyed my hair or considered it because of the commitment, special hair and constant touch-ups -- so high maintenance and #RIPbankaccount. But this year, I decided to give it a go - with statement fiery red highlights a la Pretty Little Liars' Aria Montgomery during her pre-A days.

While the red did made me feel like a bad-a$$... it just wasn't me. So I continued searching for a natural-looking colour that had some edge.

THE NEW MANE

The colour pay-off was amazing – almost a burnt-mocha effect, and it looks slightly brighter under the light. Best part is, it still looks natural! Even though my red highlights are still visible, it actually blends in well with the ash brown colour.

All in all, if you’re planning to go back to your natural hair colour after months of unicorn hair, opt for ash brown instead. Not only does it look natural, but the ash-effect adds character to your hair and a simple blow-out is all you need to switch up your hairstyle.
