CLEO Eats: Eat All You Can At Sunway Putra Hotel’s Valentine’s Buffet

It’s T-minus 4 days till Valentine’s! Picking the right place for a V-day dinner can be tricky, and we know the worries on your mind. “What if he/she doesn’t like this cuisine?” “A set meal isn’t our thing and the menu is beyond our budget!” We can relate. The best solution? We recommend buffets as you and bae can enjoy different cuisines and dishes, and eat to your heart’s content.

In conjunction with the season of love, Sunway Putra Hotel is offering a Valentine’s buffet that’s perfect for the foodie couples who don’t wanna break the bank (because spending time with each other is more important than the price, right?). #TeamCLEO got the chance to try a few highlights of the spread, so keep scrolling to see what’s good and find the deets below to make your bookings now!

Appetisers & Soups

Prawn Cocktail Salad (front) and Smoked Norwegian Salmon (back)

Start of your meal with up to 12 palate-teasing offerings prepared with high quality ingredients — expect to see fresh seafood like New Zealand Oysters and Smoked Norwegian Salmon. We loved the lightness of the Prawn Cocktail Salad mixed with a good balance of fruits and veggies that gave our appetite a lift.

The spread also includes a good selection of savoury and fresh salads, and 10 different dressings to go with your pick. The Prawn Bisque with Cheese Croutons not only gave us flavours from the sea, its tanginess from the spices also left us wanting more.

Mains

Baked Cajun Chicken with Percik Sauce (left) and Grilled Beef in Spicy Mongolian Sauce (right)

Meat lovers will be pleased to see the options for mains — the yummy mix of Western, Indian, Malay and Chinese flavours will have you going for seconds. If spicy is what you and bae like, go for the Chef’s specials such as Grilled Beef in Spicy Mongolian Sauce and Baked Cajun Chicken with Percik Sauce. We recommend pairing these with the Claypot Lamb Briyani so you’ll get the best out of the sauces.

The Poached Salmon in Consomme was also one of our favourites. The fish was nicely cooked and the consomme did not overpower its flavours, perfect for those who aren’t a fan of raw salmon.

Desserts

Ginger Chocolate Cheese Cake (front) and Mango Tiramisu (back)

I think most of us can agree that Valentine’s wouldn’t be complete without desserts. Lucky for you love birds, you can end the sweet evening to the fullest with 13 types of desserts to choose from! You can’t miss the lovely cakes with unique and intriguing flavours — we were wowed by the Ginger Chocolate Cheese Cake and Mango Tiramisu
