CLEO Talks To: Raja Nadia Sabrina’s Take on Life, Career and Success
A lawyer, blogger, wife and the founder of her own fashion label “Aere”, Raja Nadia Sabrina is the epitome of a strong, independent new age woman. How does she do it all? Read on to find out!
What made you decide to leave your career in law and pursue fashion?
Around the same time when I first started as a lawyer, I also started blogging publicly as a hobby, sharing my tips on how to style the Hijab and #OOTDs. Fashion has always been a huge part of my life and in 2014, I had an opportunity to create my clothing label so I took the leap of faith to go after what I really love and I’ve never looked back since!
How do you balance your professional and personal life?
To be honest, it was quite difficult to have that balance when I was practising as a lawyer but now that I’m fully focused on running my own label and blogging, I have the flexibility in terms of time management to spend the weekends with my family and friends.
What advice would you give to the ladies who are making their way to the top?
Always be sincere when chasing your dreams and never let temptations cloud your vision. Remember to be kind and do not make your way to the top at the expense of other people or by bringing others down.
If you could live your life all over again, what would you do differently?
Nothing. Whatever that I’ve done before has made me who I am today. I made mistakes in the past but these mistakes have taught me valuable lessons. As long as those mistakes and regret drive me to become a better and stronger person, they’re well worth it.
What is the most important lesson you learned during your journey?
Patience, perseverance and hard work are a must, even if you don’t see an exit or when you begin to doubt yourself, see it through and it will pay off. You must approach everything with the correct attitude and do your best in everything or you might as well not do it at all. Always trust that life has a way of working it out in your favour.
