Did You Know There’s An App That Can Help You Be Socially Responsible?

Despite our PM’s persistent plea to #stayathome, not everybody has been taking it seriously. Some travelled far away because of a particular dish they missed, while others made plans to the beach, misinterpreting the MCO period to be a long-overdue holiday. The government has since then implemented much stricter rules by enforcing a curfew and issuing compounds to stop the public from defying.

We know being home-bound is difficult to bear but please don’t be that person. Let’s be mindful that not everybody has the privilege of being safe at home. Aside from valiant frontliners, homeless people too are fighting a battle against the coronavirus. While a majority of them have been relocated to safer shelters, some still do not have roofs over their heads.

Seeing this contrast riles us up. And if you’re like us, wanting to fulfil our social responsibility, you can do so with the newly released ACTnow app to help authorities enforce the partial lockdown. Complaints, suggestions or untoward incidents you feel the local councils have missed can be reported through this platform. Play your part and make use of your voice!

make Malaysia better with #ACTnow app

All you have to do is snap a photo or record a short video, file your complaint and press send. Easy! From there on, ACTnow will get these reports pushed to relevant authorities either with the local councils, BOMBA, Polis Daerah or other relevant departments.

overview of what can be reported:

  • Overcrowding or long queue of people in the supermarkets or food outlets
  • Homeless people spotted sleeping on sidewalks
  • Report on location or area where people breach MCO.
  • Report untoward incidents, highlight safety or security needs around your community
