Apple Announces The New Affordable iPhone SE

In the midst of going through a pandemic, Apple has decided to surprise us all with the announcement of a new generation of the iPhone SE — a well-built phone that is as good as its bigger siblings, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, with a price tag that won’t burn a hole in the wallet.

And yes, you read that right. The latest iPhone SE takes the form of the iPhone 8 — a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and that sweet Home button that we all love so much — while having the Apple’s fastest A13 Bionic chip powering the phone, which is the same processing chip that the iPhone 11 Pro has.

But what about the camera? The second-generation iPhone SE comes with a single rear camera system that is similar to the iPhone 8 and iPhone XR. However, what makes it different, and yet better than the other two older models is that the iPhone SE has many camera software features similar to the iPhone 11, such as the six Portrait Lighting effects, Depth Control and the second-generation Smart HDR.

In addition to that, the 7-megapixel front camera can do Portrait mode, similar to the 12-megapixel front camera of the iPhone 11. The iPhone SE is also capable of recording 4K videos up to 60fps.

Let’s talk about the design. As previously mentioned, the 2020 version of iPhone SE has the same body frame as the iPhone 8. It is wrapped in an aerospace-grade aluminium and durable glass design, while the rear glass is made using a seven-layer colour process for precise hue and opacity, delivering rich depth of colour to seamlessly blend in with a matching coloured aluminium band.

The iPhone SE uses Haptic Touch for Quick Actions such as rearranging the apps and more. The most important question: Is the phone waterproof? Yes, the iPhone SE is water- and dust-resistant with an IP67 rating for water resistance up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.

No fret, the phone is also capable of wireless charging and compatible with Qi-certified wireless chargers.

Sharing is caring — audio sharing is possible on the latest iPhone SE when there are two sets of AirPods or Beats headphones, so you can listen to the same music with your friend or bae nearby.

If you’re constantly travelling overseas or have a business line, the phone also has dual-SIM with eSIM support so you’ll get to have two different mobile numbers on the same device.
