Your date can’t decide between Japanese and Thai? They can have the best of both worlds right at this establishment. Just like how its name suggests, Kaiju has been known to serve ‘monstrous’ dishes by infusing Japanese cooking techniques with Thai flavours.

Anything hot and spicy isn’t recommendable when on a date but if you can’t resist, opt for a hearty bowl of Tom Yum Udon. Unusual to order in a Japanese restaurant but where else can you find Japanese udon and Malay minced fish noodles soaked in delectable Tom Yum soup – and they’re very generous with the prawns and squid they put in!

Do you go by the name ‘rice bucket’? Earn your nickname with the Hawaiian Kaiju Rice! Think homemade minced chicken patty, shimeji mushrooms and a fried egg piled on top of a bed of warm fluffy rice with Japanese curry and Thai green mango garnish at the side. Yumz!

End the date on a sweet note with their signature Coconut and Ikura Roe Ice Cream. We know it’s intimidating to try a dessert made with fish eggs but trust us on this. The salty ikura roe eggs complement the sweet coconut ice cream perfectly. And biting into the little pops of fish eggs is like eating natural popping candy! Surprisingly divine.
