Revive Local Pride And Take Part In ‘Kuala Lumpur, I Love You’ Community Initiative
There’s no place like home, every Malaysian that has ever set foot across the border can confirm that. Nobody knows Kuala Lumpur better than us KL-ites, every nook and cranny of the city is our playground. So why not celebrate that with pride?
The Cities of Love franchise of collective motion pictures has bloomed into a global community movement which began with the films “Paris, Je T’aime” and “New York, I Love You”, with over 20 cities in participation and counting. The goal is to revive a sense of local pride and remind us of the unique characteristics of the capital city that should be recognised and appreciated through the art of storytelling.
To kick off the launch of ‘Kuala Lumpur, I Love You’, renowned local writer and director, Dain Said was appointed as Cities of Love Malaysia’s City Manager. On a panel discussion at Hang Kasturi, Author Bernice Chauly, Director Dain Said, Think City’s Lee Jia-Ping and George Town Festival director, Joe Sidek shared their love stories with Kuala Lumpur and the initiative’s objective of serving as a platform for KL-ites to “take back their city” by embracing the differences.
