The 5 Things That Made Khalid Live in Malaysia So Much “Better”

In Case You Missed It (ICYMI), Khalid performed at KL Live yesterday on 4 Nov 2018 — forming just part of Urbanscapes 2018’s line-up of hot acts. #TeamCLEO had worked together with Urbanscapes to give away tickets to very well-deserving readers and followers who were die-hard fans. (Psst — we hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did!)

Khalid is a talent and wunderkind who has take the music world by storm. The 20-year-old has already released two albums in two years and has since won seven awards. It’s no wonder: with his smooth, buttery vocals (he’s dubbed as a “baritenor” — a mix of baritone and tenor), catchy beats that become an earworm after just a listen, smooth moves and lyrics to speak to the spirited millennial. (“Young, Dumb and Broke”? “American Teen”? “8Teen”?! Just get out of our minds already.)

His show at KL Live on 4 November 2018 was a sold-out gig, a full-house and a night to remember. While fans are still reeling (and repeatedly playing “Eastside” on Spotify *cough* like us *cough*), here are five details that you need to know about Khalid’s first performance in Kuala Lumpur.

1: Malaysian fans love khalid so much they started queuing up at the venue, KL Live, from 1.30PM

This was not a drill. #TeamCLEO caught wind of this and found out from the event organiser that fans were lining up at KL Live from 1.30pm — seven-and-a-half hours before showtime.

Due to its e-ticketing system that doesn’t dispense physical tickets (this is clever because it discourages the unscrupulous practice of scalping), the venue required ticket holders to register their details for the day of the event and they could only gain access by presenting their IC or identification.

Even though this changes little in terms of how you can enter, fans still wanted to get dibs on the best spot in the venue to be up close with Khalid!
