#TeamCLEO Tried McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger And Here’s What We Think

Last year, our neighbours were going crazy over McDonald’s Nasi Lemak Burger that was launched to celebrate Singapore’s national day. Transforming a staple dish into a burger, the set was also completed with Cendol Ice-Cream and Bandung Fizz.

Aside from sparking a major debate on social media on which country should claim Nasi Lemak as their local delicacy (please don’t fight, just makan!), it goes without saying that Malaysians felt major FOMO up until a few days ago when McDonald’s Malaysia teased the limited edition burger on Facebook.

Of course we immediately made a countdown to the release date and ordered the burgers to try for ourselves. Get the latest updates by following @cleomsia on Instagram!

“As someone who’s a basic b*tch when it comes to ordering a burger (cheeseburger, all day err’day), the idea of eating a Nasi Lemak rendition of it sounds way too complex for my tastebuds. But I didn’t let that stop me from taking a bite! As soon as it was unwrapped, the whole room immediately transported me to Sunday morning breakfast, unfortunately sans teh tarik on the side. I enjoyed the burger way more than expected but I think the sambal needs an extra kick. The main highlight for me was the crunchy and flavourful chicken patty”
